Life is unpredictable and when we are younger we create an idea of how our lives will go, where we want to be or what we want to do with our lives. However, as I have grown I have learned that some things do not go as we plan or hope and an essential part of becoming an adult is the ability to adapt to unforeseen obstacles and continuously grow to be the best version of ourselves possible. I chose this person to interview as they are one of my closest childhood friends and growing up we have always had similar career aspirations. The individual I chose to interview possesses a consistent positive attitude, energy, generosity and perseverance that I truly admire. During our school-age years this individual experienced an unsurmountable loss but with the support of family and friends they channeled that pain by putting in hard work, becoming a nurse practitioner and dedicating their life to improving patient care. This individual comes from a family of nurses and I truly admire their optimism, empathy and ability to inspire and encourage others.  The position this individuals has is an informative leadership position, by reporting to solely to their manager. Formal leadership is based on the individuals position in a group, these are people who are assigned to be leaders as part of their role in an organization. In contrast, informal leadership is a highly competent person who has influence over peers but does not have an official authority or title of leadership. From this interview I am most interested about learning how this individual manages conflict and responds to criticism, the type of leadership style they embody and how they maintain a work/life balance.
