I utilized my individual performance profiles for each ATI assessment to improve my test taking strategies by taking more time to read through questions and answers, visualize different scenarios and have committed myself to stop changing answers. As the semester progressed I noticed as I took more time for each question and stopped questioning myself or reading too much into the question that my scores and performance vastly improved. I used the content gaps identified through ATI practice tests by making a list of my weak areas and utilizing ATI remediation and Saunders comprehensive NCLEX book and practice questions to review the material I was not as confident on. Throughout the semester I think the ATI remediations while time consuming were ultimately very helpful in understanding why the question was answered incorrectly and the rationale of the correct information. Additionally, I find the Saunders NCLEX book to be very helpful in highlighting important concepts and utilizing their practice questions helps me to improve my test taking strategies. I continue to take the time each day to practice healthy habits and stress management. I set aside an hour each day to work out which truly helps to decrease my stress and anxiety. Additionally, I allocate one day a week to meal and snack prep so I can keep my diet as healthy as possible. I have also maintained a sleep schedule to allow myself to be physically and emotionally rested so that I can approach each day feeling refreshed and motivated. I will use the skills I have gained this semester to continue to prepare for licensure and transition to professional practice by continuing to set weekly goals to practice NCLEX style questions in order to strengthen the content areas I am weak in. As well as allocating time for myself daily to engage in the things I enjoy to help manage my stress. Utilize feedback provided on remediations and individual performance profiles to review weak content areas on specific days of the week and do practice questions. I have also created a study schedule to break up the content by weeks and set a test date goal so I am not overwhelmed by the amount of material. I plan to buy UWorld on May 1st and will begin doing 50-100 practice questions daily at least five days a week.
